Wow, looks like a good few fishos were keen to learn how to catch big local bay snapper and jewies. Another great MBFG fishing group social meeting at the club.
A Bar Too Far - A Cautionary Tale !!!
A cautionary tale detailing the experience of a couple of MBFG members who ventured through South Passage Bar on a day when even brave men turned around and fished in the bay.
QLD Weather scores 1 point, MBFG beer and fishing wins with a score of 2 points
The wet weekend may have stopped the Moreton Bay Fishing Group from sitting on a beach around a fire at Tipplers campground, but it did NOT stop the group’s social drinks and fishing activities at home base.
Swanny’s Birthday Bash - Fishing the NT 2026
Moreton Bay Fishing Group members Ian and Gary, plus a few mates, headed up to the Northern Territory for a fantastic fishing adventure. Plenty of barramundi, coral trout, trevally, cod, golden snapper and a very surprising “unusual” furry catch.

The call of the deep blue temped some keen fishos offshore, despite the South Passage Bar trying to spoil our fun.

Gutter Bar Trip Jan 2026
Moreton Bay Fishing Group spends the weekend at the famous Moreton Island’s Gutter Bar. The sandbar picnic delivere the goods, and Pieter used his overboard skills to recue Terry’s camera from Davy Jones’s locker.

When the weather allows for a sneaky midweek trip to chase marlin out wide, you just gotta go.
Awards BBQ - 2026
A day of winners are grinners, and losers are … grinners as well. A great time was had by all, and the good food and company came with a bonus country music festival and line dancing.
Rainbow Beach - 2025
The inagural Rainbw beach weekend trip was a great success, and will become an annual event. Many advantures and stories, along with a significant quanity of stuff-up $5 fines from more than the usual suspects.
